So I might create new pages with flat lists and not edit existing pages that have nested lists at this time. eg I might create Idea Development page 15, which it’s maybe time for anyway.
Affects site map, a pain, I was trying to add latest group of posts (w/o breaking nesting at top):
My latest feeling, discussed at length in latest voice recordings toward Egodeath Mystery Show, is that I shouldn’t omit a star from my book rating unless he makes a cosmic-sized disastrous error, which he does in grandest fashion, while he advocates a scientific basis instead of a religionist mythology basis for the academic historiography of religion.
He has to chronically misuse terms like he did ‘entheogen’, leaving no scientific way of assessing what is or is not entheogenic, but relying on unscientific hearsay.
He has no idea what differentiates entheogen from non-entheogen.
The dividing sword and measuring yardstick is that an entheogen makes you experience being a puppet frozen in rock; you don’t control the source of your control-thoughts.
If the thing in question doesn’t focus on accomplishing that effect, then the thing being assessed is not an entheogen, and it is only an entheogen to the extent to the degree that the thing being scientifically assessed accomplishes the above effect, specifically.
If you agree to any of his set of assertions, that the highest level of the cosmos is number seven, or that level eight is outside the cosmos/heimarmene, you are also having to agree to the nonsensical, anti-scientific, incoherent, necessary implicit corollary assertion that either the fixed stars don’t exist, or else they are to be somehow (impossibly) placed in the moving, planetary sphere of planet number seven.
This is extreme incoherence, and unscientific, and his footnote 114 reveals that his cosmos does not work; he cannot successfully account for the fixed stars.
I ran calculations today, and the there are 2500 or 5000 stars visible to the naked eye, yet in his cosmos model, there are only five little white dots in the night sky.
He removes literally 99.9% of the stars (white dots) from the sky (5000/5005) to try to make his broken cosmos model work.
Generous calculations show no, he only removes 99.7% of the stars from the night sky.
Cosmosgate!
Hanegraaff’s anti-scientific, totally deviant and non-standard mystic cosmos tears itself to pieces and blows up in a giant fireball, leaving asteroids rubble.
The non-metaphorical result is that if you attempt to use the Hanegraaff explanatory model of mystical transformation, you will have control instability and control seizure when in the loose cognitive state.
That is the proof that his model is wrong; and any wrong model automatically is the possibilism-premised mental world model, rather than the only successful model, which is the eternalism, non-branching model per the Egodeath theory, and per Eadwine’s image of non-branching initiation.
This is the Hanegraaff cosmos model of myth, the mystic cosmos model that he invented out of sheer fantasy imagination with no textual basis, and he should read David Ulansey for starters, misusing as he is forced to do the word ‘hypercosmic’, along with completely misusing the word ‘stars’.
Inexcusable, his chronic pattern of grotesquely misusing and misdefining words, rendering them unclear and meaningless, and now ruined and worthless, bringing nothing but cosmic-scale confusion to his readers and to the field of esotericism history.
That’s how bad his baseless, invented, imaginary mystic cosmos is, and so it is fair that I remove 20% of the stars from his rating.
This model is a cosmic-scale disaster.
Childish egoic freewill-premised possibilism-model presumptions and the model of autonomous control agency tries to fantasize and imagine what transcendent knowledge would be, and all they can come up with is: you gain liberty and freedom and power, and wash ego with soap to make it clean, remove the “negative psychological traits” — that’s about the level of his possibilism-premised mystic theory, predictably.
Either you firmly assert the eternalism correct, clear, coherent model of transcendent knowledge, or else by default you end up staying in the same old sky castle of egoic possibilism-premised delusion, despite all the marketing hype.
He is the king of exoteric esotericism — now enhanced with non-drug entheogens!
Thank you for contributing to spiritual understanding of hermetic texts, but the way you have done that has led us into an egoic possibilism-premised ditch, irreverently throwing eternalism/Fate into the Rejected wastebasket, while claiming to be pro-cosmos.
He needs to do some major revision, and he needs to stop this evasive B.S. move of remaining silent about the fixed stars (except for his roundabout, indirectly worded footnote 114 hidden in the Sounding Cosmos music section).
He has to clearly acknowledge that the fixed stars utterly destroy his mystic cosmos model, and that his model is essentially a failure, because it cannot account for the sphere of the fixed stars, which is the central, most important level to account for.
Into his purportedly “science-based historiography of religion”, Hanegraaff indiscriminately interweaves his failed fantasy cosmos that he invented with no textual support of any kind, no citations to back up his frequently asserted claim that planet level seven is the highest cosmos level.
Late antiquity fell into this chutes-and-ladders Ken Wilberian disintegrative regression.
This is why I’ve always been against mystics’ framing of the mythology themes, and I instead take those themes directly as data to fit within my own successful explanatory framework, and I do not give credence to their bad framing of the mythology themes.
When a culture values transcending eternalism more than they value comprehending eternalism, then they cannot comprehend eternalism and they cannot transcend eternalism.
It is a practical necessity that a culture must value comprehending eternalism more than they value transcending eternalism, or else they will lose both, and we ended up with a free-floating cloud of myth themes describing eternalism and transcending eternalism.
The catalog and vocabulary of mythemes became an untethered, free-floating, unmoored cloud, that nobody understood anymore, unlike simpler early antiquity that simply venerated the eternalism revelation, and they now all had mere confusion and nobody really had a clear understanding — because they didn’t want to have just a clear understanding of eternalism; they were more interested in trying to climb above eternalism, and so they lost everything, and we’re left with a cloud of myth themes that nobody actually comprehends, until the cybernetic theory of ego transcendence in 1988 & the entheogen mytheme theory in 2003 placing ego transcendence and then religious myth-analogies on a firm scientific basis of multistate cognitive science, instead of religionism.
Religionism is: trying to make mythology analogies the foundation of our explanatory model, which is what Hanegraaff ends up doing, inventing and fabricating and imagining out of thin air, with no textual evidence, an artificial cosmos that only has five white dots in the night sky.
Hanegraaff has become completely divorced from science and from sensible coherent mystical tradition.
We must throw a red flag amidst the progress he made; he drives us into a ditch with his invented, imaginary non-drug entheogens and bizarrely deviant 7-level cosmos model that requires him to misuse and completely redefine simple, clear-cut words such as ‘stars’.
{billowing cloth} is equivalent to {lifted garment} in Christian art. Control-thoughts are pushed along from outside the personal control domain, like a sail driven by invisible altered-state power.
The figures represent parts of the psyche. Andromeda = female, passive, receptive ego.

Horse and rider = steersman and the forward motion along the heimarmene world-line.
Perseus’ cloak billows behind him = the sensation that perception has been stepped up and placed above and beyond the normal seat of perception, the loose cognitive state.

What psychedelics reveal is pretty negative and offensive to egoic freewill power.
When Jesus told them the truth, many followers left him. My way is nonbranchingly narrow.
How can we spin this?
“God’s power rescues and saves you from the eternalism block universe prison/ puppethood (His Creation) that He reveals to you through His revelation of His power!” 👍👎👍👎👍👎
I love eternalism, i love it not, i love eternalism, 🌼
I’m getting confirmation on my 2006 article section “transcending determinism requires two jumps”.
We see that in Hanegraaff’s June 30, 2022 book Hermetic Spirituality.
Hanegraaff is confused to the point of he tries to put eternalism before Rebirth, tries to put fate[stars] below rebirth[top of saturn] in the standard mystic cosmos model, against Science and against universal mystic tradition.
I have successfully now explained exactly why Hanegraaff makes the mistake that he does and why he feels forced to lower the fixed stars down below the top of Saturn level.
late antiquity transposed their positive and negative values so as to place fate in the negative category, when really the revelation of fate is the main thing that is revealed in the Altered State
when you look at more anti-cosmos styled Mystery religion initiation like gnosticism and Hermetic Spirituality, you can get confused (they confuse things) because they put a negative value on the revelation of no-free-will instead of focusing on the positive, that you become enlightened, they instead by that late date focused on the negative: you become enlightened that you are a helpless puppet frozen into the prison of the block universe 👎👎
which is true; you are such a snake frozen in rock
that is what is revealed in enlightenment, is no free will, puppethood, enslavement to Fate/ eternalism.
eternalism has both positive and negative values
we get really confused when late antiquity puts the emphasis on the negative aspect of enlightenment
they present Transcendent Knowledge and they say this is bad, this is no free will, this is fate, this is enslavement in the block universe.
like William James – though I haven’t really been able to confirm this, but William James supposedly railed against “the iron block universe”.
I have a book about that but I can’t find a specific discussion where he criticizes “the iron block universe”.
people resist block universe determinism and they look at the negative side, so now it becomes confusing.
in Mithraism, Helios is lower than Mithras, and you might get the impression that Helios equals delusion (we are so used to that binary thinking/ valuation!), when in fact, Helios equals basic main rebirth enlightenment about no-free-will/ eternalism.
You cannot possibly climb up to the third level, Mithras, (a thin, derived, as-if, artificial level = return to baseline state of tight cog binding in which is freewill-shaped experiencing; experiential mode) without embracing and approaching and striving to reach level two, which is Helios: the no-free-will revelation.
Hanegraaff tries to put no free will on the delusion side of the rebirth equation; he ends up demonizing and putting in the trashcan the main Revelation the main mental model transformation he puts in the garbage can
he sees that in late antiquity as opposed to early antiquity people emphasize the move from phase 2 to phase 3 , they emphasized the bad thing about what is revealed in the altered state, and they now focus their energy on bragging about “transcending Transcendent Knowledge”, transcending the bad aspect of what you discover in Transcendent Knowledge
they formulated a confusing idea of ultra Transcendent Knowledge which bragged about moving-
this higher God moves you out from no free will block universe fate and non-Branching, and we treat now all of that as negative bad delusion or something like delusion, something undesirable to avoid and hate and discard and cast off, and the God now rescues you from the undesirable aspect of what is in fact revealed to be the truth in the altered state.
This is a confusing flip of values, and Hanegraaff would be shocked that what is in fact revealed in the altered state is that we are imprisoned in no-free-will prison iron block rock king turned to stone helplessly per Erik Davis page 118 122 in book Led Zeppelin IV book re Stairway song.
No one claimed the psychedelic state reveals only positive aspects. The negative aspects of what is revealed must be accounted for,
The torments in Hermetic texts are a clue here, framed as “negative psychological traits to be exorcised”.
In late antiquity, they attach a minus sign to what is in fact the great revelation, the main revelation in the altered state, the revelation of block universe determinism, which is where the idea of {purifying the pollution} comes from, {purifying the impurity}.
To become right with God-mode thinking and become stable in the altered state, you have to affirm no-free-will; you have to affirm block-universe determinism.
You’re affirming something that is very shocking and negative: being a puppet frozen rock helplessly with no possibilities branching.
Everybody, all the children in late antiquity were born into a world where everybody said “there’s no free will”, everybody said “there’s block universe determinism”.
They focused more and more on the negative downside of that revelation.
This explains exactly why HannahGraff became confused to the point to the extreme point of putting the fixed stars lower than the top of planet level seven!
because he knows the fixed stars is Fate, block universe determinism, and he knows that it’s a given that rebirth is stationary: it is fixed at the top of planet level seven.
that is confusing to us in our culture which has not yet awakened to eternalism, block-universe determinism.
Despite the anti-Fate theme in late antiquity, they weren’t so free-form brazen in their poetry that they would transpose Rebirth to occur higher up in the cosmos model.
they knew the truth is that you get reborn from naïve freewill into the revelation of no-free-will, and so they did not really say that there are two rebirths.
they continue the old tradition of saying there is one rebirth, there is one ego death and rebirth, and that is specifically from naïve freewill thinking into the revelation of no-free-will.
That is the ego death and the rebirth, there.
they could only weakly with a dim echo could they claim the false claim that “we are reborn out from evil deluded block universe determinism, reborn into being above the evil deluded Bad Creation – the block universe”.
they were not that brazen (other than the more radical of the gnostic contrarians), but we do end up conflating in a confusing way by late antiquity, we have a confusing overlaying where is the idea of rebirth is remapped onto the entire jump all the way from naïve freewill up to Qualified possibility thinking, qualified freewill thinking, leaping entirely over block universe determinism, and treating block universe determinism as if it is delusion and bad and evil and we must put it in the Rejected wastebasket 🗑
levels one and two become conflated with each other in relation to level 3, from the point of view of late antiquity, when you put a strong negative sign on what is ACTUALLY revealed in the mystic experience, pretty soon and then you move sort of poetically speaking, you move “higher than that”, “higher than the revealed noxious fact of eternalism”.
from that late antiquity’s third phase point of view, looking back down on what is revealed in the altered state, now we’re going to put a negative sign on revealed no-free-will and lump Fate/ eternalism together with rank naive delusion of the non-initiated state.
The transformative Fate/ no-free-will revelation became lumped together with rank sheer ignorant delusion egoic thinking, when in fact, no-free-will is exactly what the altered state reveals, whether you like it or not.
In Rock lyrics, this is the high tragedy fascinating discovery theme that is reported.
even after you fabricate the poetic idea of making/fabricating, in wishful-thinking land, an additional higher transcendent level that’s above block universe determinism,
The ancients knew that it would be a lie to claim that the ego death and rebirth experience takes you from block universe determinism into ultra transcendent free will – that would be taking poetic license too far and really it would be a lie and a complete misrepresentation because they knew the fact is the ego death experience specifically takes you from naïve freewill into the revelation of block universe eternalism.
There’s only one ego death/ rebirth experience.
What happened in the end is that they mapped the idea of the rebirth onto the entire two-level jump to take you all the way from naïve free will to alleged figuratively speaking Transcendent brand of free will:
“the God lifts you up out of the evil frozen block universe during your ego death Rebirth experience “
That framing is largely fanciful; this is largely poetic ambiguity:
the basic fact remains, against Hermetic spirituality and their demonization of fate, the true basic main overwhelming ego death & rebirth experience delivers you into puppet block universe determinism/ eternalism, enslavement to Fate, imprisoned, no free will, non-branching possibilities.
then after that, actually you have a minor little small step up when you return to the ordinary state, you return to as if Freewill thinking again, and so “the God has rescued you from his evil block universe”
the fact remains: Transcendent knowledge is primarily the revelation of block universe determinism!!
The experiences of puppethood and being imprisoned in rock, per Rock lyrics.
Rush’s Necromancer song ends with release from the eternalism prison experience.
that is the main thing that is revealed, no matter how much you try to sugarcoat that and talk about making big claims to transcend the iron block universe, and you attach a big negative sign on what is revealed during mystic revelation, and you say this is a demonic revelation, this is a terrible bad negative revealed truth , so we are going to invert everything and make it all confusing and try to associate the idea of rebirth with super transcendent freewill, even though it’s going to confuse everybody, and in fact prevent enlightenment, and prevent you from being able to enter the loose cog state with control-stability, because now you’re claiming that block universe determinism is a bad thing to avoid, and we need to lower the fixed stars down below the rebirth experience.
which is why Hanegraaff does that, even though he doesn’t understand why he is forced to tell scientific nonsense and go up against the universal convention of saying that the fixed stars are fate/ heimarmene that is revealed above/ after the level of rebirth.
I have confirmed my 2006 article section and hypothesis that transcending determinism requires two jumps
I have explained exactly why Hanegraaff fell into this confusion that went to the extreme development of actually removing the stars (heimarmene) from the sky so that they would not be above/after ego death and rebirth.
Mithraism provides an especially-
Mithraism according to David Ulansey — but you need to add the altered state, because he is unfortunately single state cognitive science of religion he is a mere scientist ordinary state scientist unfortunately
Mithraism according to David Ulansey is its cosmos model is all about transcendence and he puts all that focus on moving from phase 2 to phase 3 in late antiquity
how do we move from block universe eternalism which is revealed moving up to above that sort of kind of a little bit in a limited sense we are rescued by Mithras from the realm of Helios; heimarmene.
but they emphasized, interestingly they emphasized positive affirmation of both block universe determinism Helios and also being kind of sort of a little bit lifted out from that by Mithras.
Mithraism is a relatively positive cosmos model or usage of the standard cosmos model which climbs a ladder positively from one Enlightenment rung to a slightly higher enlightenment rung, without demonizing the lower enlightenment rung, which is the main ego death/ Rebirth revelation of no-free-will block universe determinism helpless puppet frozen and rock
we do not demonize eternalism, in Mithraism.
we instead glorify block universe determinism as the God Helios, who is in a healthy relationship with Mithras the ultra Transcendent God who is above block-universe no-free-will.
voice transcription said daimonization for a while, a hanegraaffism, he tries to be positive about demon possession, But he ought to try to be positive about fate and not fall headlong into the mistake of simply and only putting a negative sign in front of Fate/ eternalism , because it is exactly fate/ eternalism is precisely what is revealed during ego death and rebirth
the revelation of transcendent truth is precisely fate
even though you have a love-hate relationship and especially and late antiquity had a complicated confusing love-hate relationship with fate/ eternalism, so that sometimes associated Fate with lower delusion, something to be left behind and avoided.
but that is disaster to the stairway to heaven
you cannot simply put a negative sign in front of fate, because it’s the main thing that’s revealed in Transcendent Knowledge ego death and rebirth, like it or not.
if you want transcendence, you have to love and embrace fate/ eternalism and don’t merely only point out and only emphasize its downside.
you have to put it on the pedestal.
you have to; there’s no option
you have to put it on a pedestal.
Even if you complain about eternalism, you still have to put it on a pedestal.
Fate/ eternalism is the main thing that’s revealed, I don’t care if you don’t like aspects of it, too damn bad.
You need to put Fate/ eternalism on a pedestal, or you will never achieve enlightenment, and you will certainly never reach super transcendent enlightenment along the theme of “God rescues you from the problem of block universe determinism”.
You’ll never get to phase 3 by burning and destroying and deleting and avoiding phase 2 and hating it.
You have to desire and want phase 2, revelation of and compliance with eternalism.
To withstand the loose cog state, you have to desire and want fate, sacrifice to the block universe prison, puppthood.

By analogy with “plaincourault”, we have “Eadwine” as shorthand.
Folio page f134 is SO much more important than their other surrounding 74 mushroom plants and images, that when I say “Eadwine row 2 right”, that means by default, of the full image on folio page f134.
I have a need for shorthand. OF COURSE I’m talking about f134, don’t be dense. It towers over the manuscript.
Step Aside Plaincourault Fresco, Make Way for the Eadwine Image
The Egodeath theory is the proud home, as the multi-state cognitive science of religion fully successful explanatory theory: the Egodeath theory is proud to be the home of the psilocybin single-plant fallacy, towering above every other plant, which pales next to the king, the gold reference standard, Psilocybin.
For entheogen scholarship and theory of multistate cog sci o religion, Psilocybin serves as one-stop shopping for all your theory-construction needs.
There is a good reason why the Good Friday experiment x 2 did not mess around with stupid phony ineffective replacement substitutes, demonic avoidance tactics, but went straight to the real-deal gold-standard reference, maximum chance of success, minimum chance of BS baloney, Psilocybin.
By committing to this model and rejecting the bogus substitute alternatives, I credit this with the success of this theory, is this choice of committing to this as the intended plant.
Whenever anyone in Hellenism or Christendom shows the third-rate fallback plants, they’re wishing that it were psilocybin instead.
Any time in Hellenism and Christendom, when they use scopolamine and amanita, they are wishing and pretending that they are using the good thing that they want it to be, that they are thinking of, which is cubensis; Psilocybin.
Psilocybin is truly a proper hypothesis, completely determinate, completely specific, especially Eadwine’s two bowls of Cubensis one and a half hours apart for 10 weeks, is the measure and the reference standard of efficacy (for revealing that you don’t control the source of your control-thoughts) which any false, phony, fraudulent, avoidance-driven claims, to substitute with an ersatz, non-threatening substitute in order to prevent and avoid enlightenment, such as non-drug cave meditation – throw that in the garbage can; and non-drug imagination exercises (ie. psilocybin-diminishing) – throw that in the garbage can (unless done correctly 🍄 per the true authentic traditional methods of the mystics).

As I posted as an Academia.edu comment on Brown’s 2022 article rebuttal to Thomas Hatsis mainly published at Graham Hancock website.
Revised book review title designed to rebut & correct Hanegraaff. Links to the Egodeath theory’s focus on the cybernetic theory of ego transcendence.
Includes ‘Source’ rather than magical word ‘Ogdoad’. Adds the key word Rebirth that’s the problem in its level relationship with heimarmene / eternalism.
Rebirth is below heimarmene, not above it, even if the Hermetic texts irreverently lower Fate as if it’s below Rebirth and is disconnected from the Source.
Reverent negativity toward eternalism is good and effective.
Embracing heimarmene/the Source is two aspects of the same identical thing.
You cannot be irreverent towards Fate and reverent towards the Source, because these are two aspects of the same thing.
If you avoid Fate and don’t reverently sacrifice to it, then you are also avoiding the Source and avoiding enlightenment and avoiding mental transformation, and are dualistically splitting apart two aspects of the same thing: God and the Creation; the Source and heimarmene.
Mithraism and Christianity both had the correct reverent negativity towards fate /heimarmene/ providence/ eternalism.
Hermetic/Gnostic texts had a dysfunctional irreverent attitude towards heimarmene (toward the transformative revelation that you don’t control the source of your control thoughts).
The fate-irreverent attitude tells you to avoid the fatedness revelation, and so it makes you avoid God; it makes you avoid enlightenment, mental transformation to become in conformity with Fate/ eternalism.
The fate-irreverent attitude makes you avoid the source of control thoughts.
The book Hermetic Spirituality tells us to avoid the source of control thoughts (heimarmene), while at the same time it tells us to approach the source of all that exists.
This is dualistic. This is trying to take opposite attitudes towards two aspects of the same thing.
I discuss this in August 26 voice recordings for Egodeath Mystery Show.
My approach the Egodeath Theory is based not in mythology/esotericism, but in Multi-State Cognitive Science, including Multi-State Cognitive Science of Religion.
Luther H. Martin & David Ulansey are merely in the approach/field of Single-State Cognitive Science of Religion, which is a contradiction in terms a la exotericism.
I disrespect single state science; I disrespect cognitive science of religion that is single state.
The correct cognitive science of religion must be multi state cognitive science of religion.
MS-CSR is good, SS-CSR is incorrect and bad and not helpful and it’s barking up the wrong tree.
It is the exoteric version of the field.
It is not the good esoteric altered-state version of the field.
They provide irrelevancies, including the tendency towards neuroreductionism.
In my book review, I put the emphasis on my foundation being my core Theory, my Scientific basis of my model of multi-state mental development.
Because of Hanegraaff, I am revising my emphasis in my concept-labels.
I now word my two-level Max Freakout model:
The mind changes from possibilism-thinking to eternalism-thinking (including qualified possibilism-thinking).
I do not write:
The mind changes from possibilism-thinking to qualified possibilism-thinking (including eternalism-thinking).
We don’t end up with “qualified possibilism-thinking (including eternalism-thinking)”.
Rather:
We end up with “eternalism-thinking (including qualified possibilism-thinking)”.
Emphasize eternalism, not possibilism as the end-state, because ego (“I control the source of my control-thoughts”) falsely premised thinking, like Hanegraaff, would latch onto the message “we end up with possibilism” and reify delusion and overvalue possibilism/ the freewill false premise of autonomous control power.
this way of expressing it will cover will make this 2- level model a complete end to end model, a simple two level expression of it , all the way from start to finish, because
What you end up with is eternalism-thinking (minor detail: do not overemphasize possibilism-thinking:
Eternalism-thinking includes qualified possibilism-thinking.
The mind must be reverent toward eternalism-thinking, not avoid and disrespect it.
Do not irreverently place heimarmene/ eternalism into Hanegraaff ‘s Rejected wastebasket like the Hermetic texts’ myth-theme of {I hate Fate} does.
You cannot be reverent toward the source and you cannot approach and come nearer to the Source (of control-thoughts) when you have that dysfunctional attitude.
We must avoid emphasizing possibilism-thinking, because egoic – like this book Hermetic Spirituality, ego will latch onto that if we say that “you end up with possibilism“-thinking.
If we say that “you end up with possibilism-thinking”, then no enlightenment will happen, because ego will latch onto that phrasing and exclude eternalism-thinking.
If we emphasize that you end up with some form of possiblism thinking, this will prevent enlightenment, because the ego will latch onto that word and will say “I control the source of my control thoughts”, and this will prevent enlightenment.
So we have to call the final state in a concept label “eternalism” not “possibilism”.
Define eternalism-thinking as “includes qualified possibilism-thinking”.
Do not define qualified possibilism-thinking as “includes eternalism-thinking”. If you say qualified possibilism-thinking, also emphasize “advanced eternalism-thinking” or “including eternalism-thinking” as the necessary requisite basis for qualified possibilism-thinking.
You do not have qualified possibilism-thinking without eternalism-thinking as its foundation.
It is extremely important to pick good concept labels.
The lexicon is extremely important because a bad lexicon will mislead wishful thinking.
Hermetic texts used a bad lexicon: they employed the popular theme of hatred and disrespect for fate/eternalism: (you don’t control the source of your control thoughts; that is fate; that is revealed heimarmene.
And the result confused this book so that he ended up putting rebirth above fate, above the revelation of divine eternalism, because this is the upside-down attitude that gnostics and hermetic texts in the popular spirit of the day in late antiquity they truly do put fate below ego death & rebirth.
This is how they avoided enlightenment, in their malformed mystery religion brand based on the theme of “I hate and I avoid fate” (yet claim to pursue God).
The “I hate and avoid Fate/ eternalism ” version of mystery religion initiation doesn’t work.
“I hate and disrespect eternalism” is not a viable initiation-brand theme that draws the mind toward and through the control attractor vortex toward revelation of eternalism and toward stable nondual unity God-consciousness.
Christianity correctly criticized gnosticism and Hermetists and for being dualistic and anti-Cosmos.
Mithraism rightly glorifies Helios the demiurgic god of eternalism/ heimarmene/ fatedness.
Even if April D. DeConic’s book The Gnostic New Age, even if that’s correct that they were clever contrarians, this is not a viable theme for mystery-religion initiation, this theme of “I hate and avoid the revelation that I don’t control the source of control thoughts”.
You must have a reverent negative attitude; drawing towards God in fear and trembling – not avoiding God and the Creation, which is block universe eternalism. aka heimarmene.
This is the pit that Hannagraaff fell into: he accurately represents that Hermetists have an irreverent attitude towards Fate, and this is a disaster that prevents enlightenment.
An irreverent attitude towards Fate is like hating feet, the legs we stand on during standing prayer.
Heimarmene is God, the uncontrollable source of control thoughts.
The experience of being a puppet controlled by an uncontrollable controller (“reverence toward the Source”) is the same thing essentially as experience of being frozen into rock (heimarmene ).
A negative attitude towards – I mean an irreverent attitude towards either of those produces the same result: control seizure and a failure of enlightenment.
The result will be avoidance and running away from enlightenment rather than embracing it and moving into it
We don’t really dare to talk about “moving beyond eternalism”, because the ego will latch on to that and try to split eternalism separate from God, which doesn’t make any sense and produces regression, regression away from God and falling below- at the same time, falling below God and falling below eternalism.
These are one and the same thing, different aspects of the same thing.
If you avoid eternalism, you avoid God.
We need to have a good kind of negative attitude reverent negative attitude: fear of God, Desdemona, and awe.
Do not have an irreverent type of negative attitude towards eternalism, or you will get control seizure and not enlightenment, and you will not reach non-dualistic embrace of God, the source of control thoughts.
I just struck solid ground in my voice recordings.
I hit solid ground while digging, not just superficial adding 1 to the fixed stars level and adding 1 to level 8 to say that level 9 is above Fate.
All of that relatively makes no substantive change.
Rather, the Big Problem for Hanegraaff book Hermetic Spirituality is that:
I do NOT also add 1 to “what level does rebirth occur in?”
🤔 😲 🤯 😱 😵
I am NOT editing that aspect of his book.
I am editing his book to add 1 to the fixed stars to put them at level 8, and I am adding 1 to the level which is above Fate, so it is level 9 not level 8 which is above Fate.
Where the enormous change comes in is that I do NOT add 1 to the level at which rebirth occurs!!
I agree and I retain that aspect of his cosmos numbering, that indeed rebirth happens from level 7 into level 8, per Erik Davis’ book Led Zeppelin IV, pages 118 & 122 about the song Stairway to Heaven & the Egodeath theory.
We are reborn INTO Fate, we are not reborn out from fate!! Except in a subsequent minor sense.
We hear the song of level 9 after we sacrifice the freewill premise that “I control the source of my control-thoughts” and have fully settled in Fate-compliance in level 8.
The Saturn gate is the threatening of child thinking; ego death is surrender to the uncontrollable source of control-thoughts, then the mind is reborn into Fate, level 8.
This is what is devastating to his book.
And thus I have discovered what forced Hanegraaf to be irrational and what forced him to misuse the entire set of lexicon of star-related words, why he was forced to torture and misuse all of these words and aggravate his readers by misusing all of these words about stars/ constellations/ zodiac/ cosmos/ hypercosmic and any words like those.
Because if he allows the fixed stars to be at level 8 and if he says level 9 is the level which is above fate BUT when doing so, he keeps rebirth positioned between level 7 and 8 — which the texts force him to do — that means bad news for him:
We are reborn into Fate-reverence, rather than being reborn into the level above Fate.
We sacrifice in reverent honoring of Fate.
Admit it, recognize your gnostic cosmos-hating attitude Hanegraaff, pull FATE/HEIMARMENE/eternalism back out of your Rejected wastebasket, Hanegraaff.
🚫🗑
This book is a misguided and deluded egoic attempt to place Fate below and prior to rebirth, when in fact Fate-consciousness is after and higher than ego death/ rebirth.
His unstable, malformed, upside-down, unscientific, irrational, non-standard cosmos model, and his alien cosmic lexicon, results from his trying to force Fate to be lower than rebirth.
Integrate Heimarmene
Higher levels/layers contain the lower, or “overlapping”, or enfolding per onion layers.
The Source is nondual, identified with heimarmene. If you reverence the Source, you must reverence heimarmene.
We grow upwards like a tree into higher levels, or like Maslow’s hierarchy.
We add higher levels and we per Wilber tend to exclusively identify with those newer, higher developmental levels, yet the lower levels remain our foundation which we must affirm and keep strong.
Wouter Hanegraaff needs to recognize, as he kind of does, that the Hermetic writers firmly assert that Fate remains real and affects the body even of the wise initiates.
WH states repeatedly that the Hermetic texts say that even the wise, completed initiates remain forever subject to the rule of Fate.
And Hanegraaff says to reverence the Source of all that exists.
Yet he represses/ demonizes/ dissociates from Fate, he wants to hate and deny its reality, he seems a little stuck or flummoxed:
Why do the Hermetic writers keep insisting that Fate is real and continues to rule the body even of the initiates?
Hanegraaff wishes to totally demonize Fate, but he should be reverent toward it.
(Fate = heimarmene, eternalism, no-free-will, non-branching; preexisting control thoughts; you don’t control the source of your control-thoughts.)
Hanegraaff emphasizes positive attitudes toward cosmos, body, matter, and nature, yet, he really cusses-out Fate/Heimarmene as “infection, contamination, impurity, pollution, delusion” – while claiming that the Hermetic/Gnostic view isn’t anti-cosmos.
Hanegraaff, you might not demonize the cosmos, but you sure fall headlong into the mythic stylized theme/analogy of {demonizing heimarmene/Fate}! Which you outright EQUATE with the cosmos.
What Wouter says, and what he claims that the Hermetic/Gnostic writers say:
I love the cosmos. The cosmos is heimarmene. I hate heimarmene.
The Hermetic/Gnostic writers sure don’t seem to “embrace and include and integrate” Fate/ heimarmene, a la Ken Wilber.
The Hermetic/Gnostic writers are taking poetic license in their railing against heimarmene; WH fails to grasp how much they love/hate/ reverence Fate even while they rail against it.
Their stance is too complex/advanced for him, and he misreads it as a purely negative stance that the Hermetists have.
Hanegraaff needs to integrate the lower levels in the higher – but his Hermetic text writers themselves don’t seem to positively integrate Fate/heimarmene.
His book works hard to argue that they have a positive mental attitude, non-dualistic… yet they sure strike a tone of dualistic hating on that damned evil accursed Heimarmene.
No wonder WH assumes “No way can Hermetic writers be saying that you’re reborn into the reality & reverence of Fate/heimarmene.”
Much fault is on the part of the Hermetic writers themselves, for taking too negative a view against Fate, while yammering about how one must reverence the Source of all that really exists.
So, we have slightly egoic and dualistic world-hating (heimarmene-hating) Hermetic writers, misread by the fully egoic Hanegraaff as if they are full-on heimarmene haters – while he defends them as “totally not anti-cosmos”.
Hanegraaff’s failure to integrate the lower levels, is actually, he’s picked it up from the Hermetic writers themselves, who poetically play with the themes / analogies, “hatred of cosmic heimarmene”.
We must consider the Hermetic/Gnostic writers as mentally garbled or less than ideal: inspired yet hardly the model of integrated levels of psychospiritual development.
They got confused in their own overly mythopoetic basis of thinking, confusing, far analogies. Their advanced-stage negativity toward the revelation of heimarmene made them as if “soured on real, mystic-revelation religion”.
The attitude of Late Antiquity:
“Mystic revelation sucks! It’s a bunch of damned mentally imprisoning eternalism/heimarmene!
“What god can save us from the evil downside of the Egodeath theory revelation?!
“Mithras, save us from Helios, the demiurgic god of revealed heimarmene-prison.”
See book The Gnostic New Age by April D. DeConick, about deliberate advanced-level inversion of mystic/mythic analogies, Crowleyan inversion of analogies to make radical statements, post- mystic enlightenment.
Hermetic/Gnostic writers might tell Hanegraaff “Actually, mystic rebirth into the revelation of heimarmene kind of sucks! That’s why we’re theming a negative inverted valuation of Fate in our myth system.
“We actually are — as our critics say — anti-cosmos, in that we really are anti-heimarmene.” See Luther H. Martin, see April D. DeConick.
They all need to better integrate lower levels, as cheerleader Hanegraaff is trying to argue that they do.
So we must not be limited to Hanegraaff, and especially we must beware of being limited to the attitude of the writers of Late Antiquity.
Luther H. Martin (Studies in Hellenistic Religions, 2018) traces the increasingly sour attitude, shared in the culture at large, against Fate.
Everyone believed in “heimarmene as prison”, and increasingly resented and railed against eternalism/Fate/ heimarmene, even though they knew that mystic-state rebirth is into the revelation of the power of heimarmene, and that rebirth is into reverent compliance with frozen-rock eternalism / heimarmene/ fate.
They were experientially sophisticated enough to understandably Hate Fate, while believing in it, but they are too advanced for Hanegraaff and he just doesn’t understand what the revelation of fate, rebirth into it, is about, so he can’t imagine that rebirth was understood by Late Antiquity as “rebirth into revelation of heimarmene”.
That was the problem of the day, far from Ken Wilber’s call to healthily integrate the lower levels into the higher levels.
Since we are only now discovering the revelation of heimarmene, it is easier for us to understand the less advanced mythology attitudes of early antiquity. The album Ride the Lightning kind of rails against heimarmene; Cliff Burton could explain the post-enlightenment attitude of the Hermetic/Gnostic writers who played with the analogies of “demonize heimarmene” though they knew that rebirth is into the revelation of heimarmene.
Late Antiquity’s religious mythology emphasized often the negative side of the altered-state heimarmene revelation, like my dwelling on ego death and control seizure instead of wonderful, non-duality, pollyanna, Martin Ball-eqsue forget-the-shadow positivity.
