warning – excess treble in Ep143 🙉, recommend settings > music > eq > Treble Reducer, or Small Speakers. then reset later. will calibrate my mics’ brightness in future – spent entire evening 😔 determining the treble cut (for my current miking setup) than will give the intended brightness for average speakers.
trying to articulate this idea that keeps coming up and I keep alluding to it when I ask :
why did browns get the color high-resolution image of the tapestry, if they had only one photograph and it was clearly the one with the caption, which is therefore the low-grade low Fidelity Young irvin collection photograph of the tapestry, and they used that to determine that this is not mushroom icon.
then why tell me why then did they bother to obtain later afterwards the high resolution photograph from the Abbey, if they already knew by that time, back when they only had the single lousy Young Irving Photo, they had already determined that this is definitely not mushroom icon, then why did they subsequently after they made that conclusion based on the one poor photograph, why did they afterwords go to the trouble to obtain the photograph from the Abbey, since they knew by that time that it was not mushroom icon?
It seems to me like they did not really believe what they claim to belive in the book, that it is not a Mushroom icon.
furthermore well why do they print in their book in a framing as if it is mushroom icon?
The browns functionally contradict themselves.
We’ve never seen such a thing before: self-contradiction, within the field of entheogen scholarship?? 🤯
tell me it isn’t so!
how can this be?! it’s unthinkable

made available to us by brown, realized during field work trip 😉🤞
This 🍄 icon is totally not an 🍄 icon 👎🚫🍄 (so disappointing, this typifying example of the faded, misapprehension, false catalogs proffered by Jan Rush), as ardent advocate dogmatist Jan Irvin wrongly asserts.
Except when promoting Brown – then, soak-in the beauty of this glorious, totally 🍄 icon. 👍🎉🏆

In the music player title of the song that I uploaded yesterday it’s missing the camera emoji
📸🤥
I want to add that, I think it really is pretty essential
but I actually talk about maybe three different puzzles and mysteries
three distinct Mysteries including the missing citation
the Mystery of the Missing Citation in the Wasson/Panofsky (pair!😬) of letters
The Mystery of “the photograph held up to the window” – was there a 500-page b&w discount-edition book attached to that “photograph that you brought with you”, perchance?? 🤔
The Mystery of the rhetorical framing of the tapestry as entheogen icon evidence: is it a good 🍄👍, or bad🍄👎?? 🤔??
(thats prev ep)
The Mystery of the Adequacy of the Blurry Irvin Photo –
Browns say that the Jan Irving and John rush collections of images are poor fidelity and as a result of that, they lead to errors of interpretation.
yet browns in the book claim that they were able to use Jan Irvin’s photo that he provided of the tapestry was sufficient for them to perceive adequate recognition of the features of the tapestry vial (we definitely see flat base & serrations) to enable a definite assessment of whether the art item is an entheogenic icon.
You cannot blame browns’ error of assessment of the vial on the blurriness of jans image, because browns don’t say that “this Jan Irving image is too blurry to assess; we need to go to see the tapestry”;
they instead say “we looked at jan’s fair-fidelity image and were able to came up with a definite assessment, since we were able to hold the (500-page) “photograph” up to the window and definitely perceive flat base and serrations.”
what they did with those correct perceptions is a different story. they here make a negative and wrong assessment, but that wrong assessment was not because of blurriness of the picture
after they later attained the color high-resolution image they did not change their position and they continue to hold the same position and they published it carved in stone in their book the assertion that this high-resolution image just the same as they saw in the blurry Jan urban image both the high-resolution and low resolution images both yield the same assessment and that we did not need the high-resolution image to draw that same assessment but the high resolution image simply agreed with the conclusion we already reached from the adequate low resolution picture so We did not need the high-resolution image to realize that this is not Mushroom art.
browns never credit their recognition that it is not mushroom art to the later improved Fidelity which they were given by the Abbey high-resolution picture.
their story & claims are inconsistent. they don’t stay true to their own story in any significant way.
