I read all of the Amazon series descriptions of these books including Luther H. Martin’s new book on Mithraism – not one word about psychedelics in the entire book series, not one word!
It is an information blackout, and the field that they are inventing is boring as fck.
My three-star condemnation of the dictionary of gnosis so called by Wouter Hanegraaff proved to be just what the doctor ordered, my saying where the hell is the engine to propel this car forward, this car has no engine, where is the damn drugs, where is the Psychedelics.
Subtract two stars.
The same for the entire series of books on the falsely so-called “cognitive science of religion”.
Totally uninspired ordinary state cognitive science of totally uninspired ordinary state what passes for religion.
Boring and irrelevant.
A junk “cognitive science” study of junk “religion”.
Luther H. Martin managed to turn this field into a breathtakingly boring sawdust, wheelbarrows full of pointless books – a study of this and a study of that, going nowhere.
Just add psilocybin to make it relevant.
