If the Artist Meant a Mushroom Rather than a Tree, He Would Have Omitted the Branches Altogether

I’m always wanting this set of images when I quote Brinckmann “they would have omitted the branches”. The link to that would become part of my Brinckmann quote block.

This page is dedicated to Panofsky. It is not possible to read his interesting sentence about omitting branching (maybe he’s smarter than I thought).

These do not in the slightest connote mushrooms and the artist would be SHOCKED at anyone getting the impression forced upon them by the artists’ intention to persist in the accidental prototypes development that just happened to end up looking like mushrooms but the artists had no intention of that even though they allowed and condoned exactly matching mushrooms except the artificial branches added (not to mention — which he doesn’t — cut branches on Pilzbaum).

Motivation for Creating this Page

Every time I mention Panofsky Letter 2 Sentence 3, I am obliged to fulfill Panofsky’s expectation and have artists remove branching from their branching-message mushroom trees.

I need a spot to link to every time I mention Panofsky’s demand to remove every last trace of ramification.
