Entheogen scholars put a higher priority at “look what righteous losers we are” than opening their eyes to try to look for entheogens inside Christianity.

I should have repeated/elaborated:
When control is demonstrated to be unstable when trying to rely on possibilism-thinking ( literalist ordinary-state possibilism with autonomous control ) during the advanced/experienced altered state, egoic control then is sacrificed, repudiated, disproved, and moved off of, in favor of the new model of the world and control, eternalism-thinking.
Similarly, entheogen scholars are addicted to relying on their false DOGMA that the church lacked Psilocybin, and they need to LET IT GO. Stop making the centerpiece of your strategy “Boo hoo the church had no Psilocybin”.
It’s false, it’s counterproductive, it’s self-defeating, and you are sending people to jail by perpetuating Prohibition by telling this false story.
Stop wanting the Church to have gotten rid of mushrooms. Start *expecting* and sincerely doing everything possible to open your eyes and learn how to perceive the SIMPLE *PRESENCE* — not “secret, suppressed, elites” absence — of Psilocybin properly inside of Western cultural history.
Entheogen scholars want for there to not be entheogens inside Genesis Eden story, Israelite religion, the Bible, Christianity.
There are some rare exceptions, but generally everyone follows Agent McKenna’s bad lead into the ditch: a self-defeating strategy: falsely claim that you shouldn’t try to find entheogens inside Christianity, because we need to tell the sob story of the Big Bad Church, that God prohibited Psilocybin in the Garden of Eden – an infantile reading of Genesis.
Entheogen scholars help to perpetuate the prohibition of Psilocybin by their addiction to the childish, totally short-sighted bad strategy of insisting that God in the Garden of Eden is a modern-day drug prohibitionist.
God dam, use some gnostic imagination, people!!
Entheogen scholars are helping to put people in cages by their self-defeating lie and narrative dominant discourse, that Mean Religion forbids Psilocybin.
The Supreme Court reads this bunk scholarship and says ok, have it your way: God Prohibits Psilocybin – entheogen scholarship says so.
McKenna says so. Therefore, to prison.
And when we find buttloads of mushroom imagery all throughout cathedrals, chapels, and manuscripts, this dysfunctional Ruck mentality that’s a HUGE part of propping up Prohibition, hastens to neutralize each positive piece of evidence, by discounting it in a heavy-handed framing as “secret, reserved for elites, cult, rite, Alchemy, abnormal, deviant, alien, from outside of real Christianity”.
Entheogen scholars don’t want for there to be mushrooms inside of Christianity or the Eden story.
Their top priority is to perpetuate drug Prohibition by falsely covering-up and neutralizing and discounting the evidence, in order to strut themselves as superior, self-aggrandizing, and cry about how the Church/ Christianity/ Bible/ Genesis/ Eden story/ God completely got rid of entheogens.
What’s your priority: your narrative of defeat you’re addicted to, or repeal of Psilocybin prohibition?
Ignore McKenna, open your eyes and WANT and TRY to see the evidence — there’s a plethora, but use some damn imagination, people!!

I could have possibly listed Chris Bennett as someone who has healthy rather than dysfunctional strategy, though his views on psychoactives in the Bible are mixed, re: Psilocybin.
I think he’s criticized more how scholars have gone about their work, more than him taking a position on whether Psilocybin in Bible/ religion.
Lots of scholarship deserves lots of healthy critique, as long as overall, it’s constructive and successful.
