Regarding Letheby’s q’air factor “Non-Physicalist Beliefs (false; bad; deluded 👎) “, which he equates with “classical mystical effects” (that’s bad, false, & deluded, he pointedly repeats)

In this video, Letheby tells how he wants to divorce the supernaturalist idealist mystical aspects of MEQ — the “high classical mystical” aspects “that James and Stace mean”, into a far-separated new q’air, in which he has no interest: the Mystical Delusions Questionnaire (MDQ), I’d call it.

What does he propose that the two new q’airs are called, when we split MEQ into two? Like:

  • MEQ-True: the True/Not Really Mystical effects (approved by Letheby).
  • MEQ-False: vs. the False/Mystical effects; the “classical mystical Wm James/ Walter Stace type mystical effects” Letheby says.

“Please get this mystical shiite junk (that I always held during trips and 3am trip discussions with psychedelic enthusiast friends) far away from me as possible!”

In 2001 (see “Balaam” at Egodeath Yahoo Group or the copy at Egodeath.com), I identified what almost no Bible scholar admits, that Balaam on the path to curse the Israelites is the clearly the model for Paul’s road to Damascus, highly isomorphic.

Removing all of the classical mystic effects (he means non-Atheism, non-Psysicalism, non-Materialism) will leave Letheby holding the naturalistic spirituality questionnaire effects portion of MEQ.

So let’s inventory:

MEQ (from Timothy Leary & Walter Pahnke in 1962) following Walter Stace 1960, deletes all negative mystical effects from the historical archive (Charles Stang points this out).

Then Letheby deletes all the high classical mystical effect from MEQ, in his proposal to split MEQ into the good, non-mystical effects, and false, non-physical, classical mystical effects (and throw those into Hanegraaff’s Rejected wastebasket).

What are we left with? not sure, but a failed quest for Transcendent Knowledge. I know someone who knows:

11-Factors is poorly presented because they [“scientists” in this broken field] never just write a damn article that hands over the actual questionnaire.

So Johnson & Griffiths never got to SEE that 11-Factors is NOT 11 subscales, but rather, TWO high level dimensions:

“Unpleasant Experiences” is identical to “Dread (DED) 1994” ie 21 items (not just 7+6 = 13 = ICC + ANX);

“Pleasant Experiences” = Ocean + Visionary of OAV 1994)

plus 11 subscales PLUS two virtual subscales (13 subscales practically) — eg little detail, item 54, I was afraid to lose my self-control.

oopsie YOU FAILED ENTIRELY

OOPS accidentally dropped 8 of 21, leaving only 13 Dread items 🤷‍♂️

oops accidentally dropped 10 of those 13, 🤷‍♂️ leaving 3 items from Dread, which are just dups of other questionnaires (SOCQ, HRS) or vague meaningless “i had fear – you know, just like in ordinary state”.

And that is the sordid story of how CEQ entirely discarded the whole Dread dimension.
