p104 top: Irvin criticizes Ruck as “feeble” for limiting mushrooms in Christianity to mysticism and heretical sects. I applaud this spot-on criticism.

Ruck — like Lash — is so noxious, falsely giving credit to Wasson for asserting mushrooms in Christianity when he did exactly the opposite! p. 104, Irvin nails it here.

Wasson is a major jerk obstructionist attacking everyone rudely for decades, insisting no msh in Christianity, calling them ignorant of the art authorities — and then we’re supposed to credit Wasson with discovering and asserting msh trees in Christianity?

WTF RUCK!! FISHY AF. Irvin’s right, this STINKS! TOTAL B.S., RUCK!!

This is maddening, Ruck, writing “Wasson’s conclusion”?! WTF do you mean, “Wasson’s conclusion”?

Wasson concluded that there’s NO MSH TREES.

Irvin’s accusation here is that Allegro ASSERTED msh trees [i disagree; overcredits Allegro], and Wasson REJECTED msh trees, then Ruck robs Allegro of his discovery and attributes it to Wasson.

Problem: Cyberdisciple points out that Allegro’s book is not about msh trees.

I say we should not use Plainc as proxy for countless thousands of msh trees (or we should realize the risks if we do that).

This is rewriting history, Ruck! No wonder Irvin 2008’s pissed off at the whole field of entheogen scholarship.

Irvin is a blind man describing an elephant, this is not a sophisticated error; this is an extremely elementary, childish error on Irvins’ part but this is standard for this stunted field.

I explain why Irvin takes and gets such a narrowed, reductionistic (exclusionary, narrowing) perspective, telling THE LIE IN THE VERY TITLE, “THE” TRUE HISTORY:

The book actually only covers 1% of the true history, and deletes and omits the rest as if it doesn’t exist.

It conflates one part of the elephant with the entire thing – a very crude, elementary error, all too typical of this extremely charged field of entheogen scholarship.

Status quo; same as ever, business as usual for this field.

Also the poison aspect of this book can be seen in terms of an overreaction like Hatsis.

Just because Ruck and Wasson and Allegro etc. committed the Amanita Primacy Fallacy, it does not follow, that no Christian ever ingested a Psilocybin mushroom.

No Psilocybin, No Logos, Eucharist, Christianity, Salvation, or Regeneration

Fantastic show I read Jan Irvin book at critique his narrowing reductionism and false dichotomies. Yes, Irvin, psilocybin was abused, but this does not at all affect its positive use. Logos is Psilocybin is Eucharist.
