Wildcard, Shell-Game Umbrella Terms Considered Harmful

I revised the article to reduce relying on the umbrella wildcard shell-game conceptual constructs “mushrooms” or “entheogens” to make my points:

Branching-Message Mushroom Trees: Psychedelic Eternalism Depicted in Medieval Art as Mushrooms, Branching, Handedness, and Stability
https://egodeaththeory.wordpress.com/2023/02/16/branching-message-mushroom-trees-psychedelic-eternalism-depicted-in-medieval-art-as-branching-mushrooms-handedness-and-non-branching/

In the context of history of psilocybin religious mythology, try to speak specifically about Psilocybin, Cubensis, Amanita, or ergot — specific plants — rather than in vague abstract multi-plant terms, “fungi”.

That’s hard to do in many cases, given:

  • Grammar.
  • Flexible communication needs.
  • Critical discussion of a malformed field that identifies as “entheogen scholarship”.
  • The two (entirely different) plants have been extremely inter-tangled in scholarship about Amanita and Psilocybin.

I’ll do another brute-force pass, to force finding alternative wordings. Suppose I’m writing in 1920, before Amanita and Psilocybin were conflated into “psychoactive mushrooms” (awful, unjustified combination of two very different psychoactive mushrooms).

  • Psilocybin defines classic psychedelic effects.

Chrome/WordPress marks “entheogens” as a typo; not a word- agreed

Regarding 1964-2007 ergot in Rock Lyrics, my policy remains same as in 1997:
http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/Annotations/PHILOSI.0.html#Mental%20Construct%20Binding%20and%20the%20Mind-Revealing%20Dissociative%20State – “The most powerful trigger for long sessions of cognitive dissociation is lysergic acid, a key technology.”

Regarding pre-1943 history of classic psychedelics, my single-plant fallacy that I’m victorious with in useful theory construction is Golden Teacher Cubensis, as shown in Great Canterbury Psalter images f134, f145, and f177.

The entheogen scholars’ role is to complain about my single-plant fallacy, overly narrow, while my role is to achieve 100% success in constructing a simple, useful, relevant explanatory theory — by repudiating the entheogen scholars’ greedy, failed attempt to discuss multiple plants at once by using wildcard umbrella shell-game terms and dirty rhetorical moves, as Irvin criticizes when done by Wasson, and ignores when done by Allegro, and then commits himself.

omg while spoken idea development 9:30 pm April 28, 2023, recording TK_VOX_5273.wav (confirmed in recording 5274), I came up with an idea to check do a full text search of Irvin’s 2014 article series “The Secret History of Magic Mushrooms”.

Resulting finding; confirmed my hypothesis/recollection: In Irvin’s article series of 5 articles, only 1 article mentions Amanita: it has 4 mentions of Amanita, none of them negative, all merely incidental.

Irvin shields and protects his idolatrous worship of his false god Amanita.

I just now got the answer to my clever question from a couple days ago:

HEY IRVIN: IS AMANITA A SUGGESTOGEN??

Answer found tonight: NO.
AMANITA IS EXEMPTED FROM IRVIN’S DISPARAGEMENT AS A “SUGGESTOGEN”.

This clever line of questioning Irvin 2014 is a pretty big victory for my critique of Gnostic Media Irvin 2008 vs. Logos Media Irvin 2022.

Irvin is a closeted Amanita Logos Huckster trying to sell us a bunk Amanita Logos-Eucharist while deleting and disrespecting and ROBBING PSILOCYBIN OF ITS CLASSIC PSYCHEDELIC EFFECT TO FALSELY ATTRIBUTE THAT EFFECT (THM p. 152 re: Griffiths 2006) TO AMANITA THROUGH THE STRATEGEM/ PLOY/ SHELL GAME WILDCARD USAGE OF DIRTY, DECEPTIVE UMBRELLA TERM “THE MUSHROOM” — just like Allegro does on p. 49 of THM (SMC p. 229 endnote 15).

On p. 49, Irvin starts to follow Allegro from “the mushroom” … “the fungus”, but then Irvin quickly backtracks and avoids presenting the Heim & Hofmann passages that Allegro cites TO LIST THE EFFECTS OF PSILOCYBIN

Irvin instead writes that Allegro’s cited passage x2 “is not important … because it refers to Psilocybe, and not an Amanita species” (p. 49 THM).

Allegro is trying to falsely attribute Psilocybin effects to Amanita through propaganda rhetoric shell-games with ambiguous terms, “the fungus” — exactly as Irvin tries to get away with on THM page 152 where Irvin cites Griffiths’ psilocybin research.

Why does THM quote Griffiths re: psilocybin? I thought “psilocybin is not important to our study/discussion”.

Voice Recordings/ Spoken Idea Development

Voice recording VOX_TK_5253.wav (and previous), April 28, 2023. starting at ~5:30 –

I no longer write about mushrooms, entheogens, fungi (ergot and/or Amanita and/or Psilocybin).

I write about Psilocybin and sometimes the lesser, inferior mushroom type, Amanita (as separate as Datura).

Amanita is more like Datura than Psilocybin. “entheogens” means Datura and/or Amanita.

Using treacherous severely overloaded terms causing intensive trouble, entirely problematic words used so casually as if they aren’t totally unjustified and problematic.

today, good voice recording about:

Humanities writers are poor thinkers and theorists. “our primitive crude forebears worshipped the mushroom” — writes the crude, irrational, taboo-driven 1920s-era “Institute of Advanced Whiggish Study” such as Wasson and Allegro and Ruck and (not breaking away from Allegro enough) Irvin.

All these horrible poets’ pompous, florid, vague, ambiguous turgid garbled fancy language conveying the stupidest, dumbest theories, hyper-ornate florid overwrought Humanities-speak.

Let’s build an anti-Scientific, humanities-dept. 1880-1920 Anthropology Dept. theory by using hazy misty UMBRELLA WILDCARD SHELL-GAME TERMS that shift every time we use them and can mean either “the mushroom, Amanita” or “the mushroom, Psilocybin”, or means now (all of a sudden) both Amanita AND Psilocybin — and then in the next sentence, flips the goalposts/ football field/ universe, to NOW suddenly mean instead, “the mushroom, Amanita”.

Allegro writes the surprising “gotcha!” usage “the mushroom, Psilocybin” in Endnote 15 of 1967/1970 SMC, covered in confusion by Irvin in THM 2008 who says he’ll give commentary on “ALL ENTHEOGEN-RELATED PASSAGES in SMC, but then refuses to copy-in the text by Heim & Wasson or by Hofmann, “because it concerns Psilocybe, which is not important to our discussion/study.”

By “all entheobotany/entheogens”, it turns out Irvin strictly exclusively meant Amanita only — not the lesser, inferior, unimportant Psilocybin.

Gordon “Ignorant Blunder” Wasson, John Allegro, Carl Amanita Promoter Ruck, Jan Irvin, & John Rush all write “the mushroom”, by which they mean Amanita and/or its inferior, lesser-looking imitator, Psilocybin.

Except for when they silently suddenly switch to mean Psilocybin, eg Allegro’s SMC endnote 15.

Or when they covertly switch to mean “Psilocybin and/or Amanita”, when it suits their dirty rhetorical moves to deceive and mislead the reader, and substitute for sound, coherent thinking.

I bet 20th C mycologists never wrote “the mushroom”, as the Humanities crowd of bunk Anthropology theory do.

The term “the mushroom” is not a STEM / Science term; usage of that bad, garbled term is anti-scientific, muddled thinking, misused to do failed theory-construction.

SMC = The Sacred Mushroom & The Cross – Allegro (1967 / 1970)

The Holy Mushroom (THM) by Irvin has ATROCIOUS abuse of Humanities-speak, garbled, umbrella, shell-game, wildcard joker term-usage.

My pages of focus in THM: 31-32, 49, 59, 107, 152 – horrible theorizing! based on umbrella, multi-plant, shell-game, wildcard words, used to hide gaps and fallacious argumentation, re: “the mushroom”, “mushrooms”, “the sacred mushroom”, “entheobotany”, “entheogens”.

These words are employed for the purpose of covertly shifting and switching their meaning constantly, to fill-in for valid reasoning.

p. ix – Judith Brown’s Foreward: “fly agaric, Amanita muscaria, the sacred mushroom.”

I Had to Declare a Major, Vigorous Revolution Against the Intense Extreme Prejudice Against Psilocybin in Europe by Entheogen Scholars, and by Paul Stamets 1994 Too

A leading mycologist asserts in 2007, no psilocybin in Europe. (England, Mediterranean)

Letcher Hatsis says no religious use of “mushrooms” in Europe or England before 1976, and no presence of psilocybin in England before 1976.

The entire field of entheogen scholarship thinks in this shut-out, prejudiced way, though Samorini’s Entheos journal plotted out many areas of Italy having liberty caps.
