The only possibility I should be prepared to admit is that, once the transformation had taken place and was generally accepted in art, some especially ignorant craftsman may have misu[n]derstood the finished product, viz., the “Pilzbaum,” as a real mushroom.

But even that is not very probable because even the most mushroom-like specimens show some traces of ramification; if the artists had labored under the delusion that the model before him was meant to be a mushroom rather than a schematized tree he would have omitted the branches altogether.

In addition, religious mediaeval art at least had little reason to think of mushrooms at all.

I intensively YI-decoded this {eat tree of knowledge} mushroom-tree: row 3 col 3.

The master mushroom-tree in the book, sets the patterns in blurry small instances.

With flexibility, creativity, not rigid parrot forms like Panofsky wants us to fantasize but only for this taboo special topic requiring abnormal views about art/ artists and intentionality.

Must factor-in the artists guild that’s on a mushroom mission associating mushroom = non-branching eternalism experiential mode;
vs.
ordinary-state = branching possibilism experiential mode;
then integrate across both modes, the mental model or pair of mental models like 2POV – two different points of view, two different mental models.

A long tradition before the medieval art genre of {mushroom-trees} (which did not invent the motifs, but refined and developed them), and a long trad after, dying in 1687 CoperNewton Modern revolution ditched the artists guild.

The 4 motifs were rejected, forgotten, no longer taught in the The Mushroom-Tree Art Mystery Religion.
