Diagram of the Pre-Existing Block-Universe that Cancels Egoic Steering Power
From my main article (2006):
The Entheogen Theory of Religion and Ego Death
http://www.egodeath.com/EntheogenTheoryOfReligion.htm

The above diagram shows Eternalism (the block universe) containing frozen, pre-existing worldlines of control-thoughts.
Condensed History of Developing the Egodeath Theory
Phase 1: The Cybernetic theory: Cross-time Self-Control, the Block Universe, Loose Mental Construct Binding, the Cybernetic Theory of Ego Transcendence
The Egodeath theory began in 1985 as my attempt to obtain the expected, cross-time self-control that Self-Help implied, promised, and expected.
In 1986, I read early Ken Wilber books.
In late 1987, I intensively read Alan Watts’ book The Way of Zen, because metaphysical enlightenment about ego and self would surely help obtain the expected cross-time self-control, and this book discusses self-control cybernetics.
The Way of Zen
Alan Watts, 1957

I finally made sense of Watts’ unclear, indirect, less-than-completely articulate, poetic-type wording, by bringing-in the idea of no-free-will, combining it with a sort of non-control over thoughts, which he described.
I liked Watts’ idea — very much against Ken Wilber’s long, drawn out, strenuous, 12-level “psycho-spiritual development” scheme — of a single, sudden satori, mental worldmodel transformation, something to do with a realization about confused thinking about personal control power and the source of control-thoughts.
Watts was Cybernetics-influenced.
I sided with Alan Watts, forming a strictly 2-level, 2-tier scheme: the mind switches from egoic to transcendent thinking; per 2013 lexicon, from Possibilism to Eternalism.
In early January 1988, I discovered and formulated the core, scientific, non-myth-oriented the Cybernetic Theory of Ego Transcendence, by combining:
o The block-universe, with frozen embedded worldlines.
o No-free-will, and “determinism” (better, “eternalism”).
o The loose cognitive association, altered state.
o The experience of non-control; control-seizure and reset from outside the system.
In August 1988, I started writing drafts of an article for the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology, but it was hard to do the revolutionary New Theory justice; so as a stop-gap and stepping-stone toward that goal, I published an outline of this Cybernetic core theory in 1997, at Principia Cybernetica.
Phase 2: The Mytheme theory: Mythology, Entheogens, Ahistoricity
In 1998, I tried to get Jesus to confirm my scientific model of ego transcendence, but I found no motivation he would have to get himself harmed; his being physically harmed served no function.
Then I discovered the ahistoricity of religious founder figures (Jesus, Paul, Moses) – raising the genre presumption question.
In 2002, I read Elaine Pagels’ first two books, which exactly lined-up, point-for-point, with all of my (consistent) set of views, on the “Gnostic” (esoteric) Christians’ side, against all of the views I rejected, on the “Orthodox” (exoteric) Christians’ side.
The Johannine Gospel in Gnostic Exegesis (1973)
The Gnostic Paul: Gnostic Exegesis of the Pauline Letters (1975)
The Gnostic Gospels (1979)
Esoteric Christianity Books: Pagels; Freke & Gandy
https://egodeaththeory.wordpress.com/2020/12/01/esoteric-christianity-books-pagels-freke-gandy/
I identified the gospel genre of Hellenistic Mystery-Myth, correcting the category error that the literalism mentality uses to incorrectly read the gospels as mundane historical reportage spiced with supernatural magical thinking based in the ordinary state of consciousness.
Around 2002, I quickly confirmed that World Religious Mythology is description-by-analogy that confirms my core, scientific theory of what ego transcendence is really all about.
Throughout 1998-2002-2006-2011-2013-2020, I continued to expand the Mytheme theory, which is the second half of the Egodeath theory (adding to the 1988/1997 core theory, which is the Cybernetic theory).
The Two Halves of the Egodeath Theory
The Egodeath theory includes the Cybernetic theory and the Mytheme theory.
In more detail:
The Egodeath theory includes:
o The loose-cognitive eternalism theory of ego transcendence.
o The analogical loose-cognitive eternalism theory of mythemes.
Thus:
The Egodeath theory consists of the Loose-Cognitive Eternalism Theory of Ego Transcendence and the Analogical Loose-Cognitive Eternalism Theory of Mythemes.

“Criteria” Article
Dr. Jerry Brown asked whether Cyberdisciple or Cybermonk wrote defining criteria of proof and evidence, for mushrooms in art.
Cybermonk started the article, got input from Cyberdisciple: Cyberdisciple’s 3 Levels of Evidence, in Texts & Art, Plus 3 Families of Mushroom Shapes.
Defining “Compelling Evidence” & “Criteria of Proof” for Mushrooms in Christian Art – category: Entheogen Scholarship
That article then spawned the “Proof” milestone/breakthrough article.
“Proof” Article: Data + Interpretation = 70 Proven Psychoactive Mushroom Trees in the Heart of Christian Art – Grown-Up Version of Kiddie “Sp🍄t the Mushr🍄🍄m” Game
Proved there are some 70 psychoactive mushroom trees in heart of Christian art.
The Canterbury Psalter “mushroom tree/ hanging/ sword” image.
Proof that the Canterbury Psalter’s Leg-Hanging Mushroom Tree Is Psilocybe – category: Entheogen Scholarship
Discussed decoding the image with the Great Mystics of Egodeath (Cyberdisciple & Wrmspirit), such as interpreting expressions and gestures.

Methodology for Decoding the Canterbury Leg-Hanging Mushroom Tree
“Spot the Mushr🍄🍄m” Game, in Greek Art
If you want to play the kiddie red-and-white version of this game, I win that version of the game too, on the Greek-art front. See gallery of my own photographs of Amanita:
https://egodeaththeory.wordpress.com/2020/12/13/photos-of-amanita-muscaria-mushrooms-to-identify-mushrooms-in-greek-christian-art/#Amanita-Photos-by-Michael-Hoffman
My 10:10 am. 10/10/2010 bird-bath holy grail photos turned out, in late 2020, to solve (provably identify as Amanita) the leopard-watering fountain in the 2006 main article, in the Dionysus’ Victory Procession mosaic:
https://egodeaththeory.wordpress.com/defining-compelling-evidence-criteria-of-proof-for-mushrooms-in-christian-art/#Identifying-the-Leopard-watering-Bowl-as-Amanita
Brings the count up to 4 + 1 + 1 = 6, plus the new construct I formally identified & defined, mushroom-shaped “grape-baskets”. Which identified shrubs in the Psilocybe-tree + Mandrake-tree Montecassino image. Greek+Christian = success; cross-decoding pairs of images.

“Ideas for podcast episodes” is the theme of Transcendent Knowledge Podcast episodes 3 & 7.
Commentaries about Transcendent Knowledge Podcast Episodes
Podcast – Site Map section
Some episodes, I’ve made a dedicated WordPress page. Other episodes, I’ve added shorter notes in the main Podcasts page.
All episodes are top-quality. I like the early batch of episodes: 1, 2, 3, 7.
I’ve written intensive notes on the episodes with guest Kafei or about Kafei, other than the first two, which are on ahistoricity of Jesus: (12, 13,) 14, 16, 25, 26.

A Home Page for Each Component-Theory of the Egodeath Theory
Created an “announcement” home page for each component-theory of the Egodeath theory, at EgodeathTheory site.
The SiteMap page shows the recent 1-2-8 outline used, with the Egodeath theory at the root:
A 4-item outline, instead, is per 2006 main article & Puzzle diagram:
- The Egodeath theory
- Dissociation (loose cognition + entheogen history)
- Cybernetics (non-control; control cancellation)
- Determinism (eternalism; pre-existence) (block universe + no-free-will)
- Metaphor (mytheme decoding + ahistoricity + Rock lyrics)
For any component-theory of the Egodeath theory, there’s now a place to gather and use all resources. For example, a centralized hub (page) for all my content about the block universe, provides gathered leads for:
- Names of the Block Universe theory within the Egodeath theory
- Egodeath Yahoo Group postings about the block universe
- mythemes about the block universe
- core concepts (glossary entries) about the block universe
- sections of announcement-articles that present and define the block universe
- pages at EgodeathTheory WordPress site about the block universe.
- section of Egodeath.com site about the block universe.
- phrases about the block universe
Gallery of Mushrooms in Christian art
The biggest collection on the Web, of all known images.
The page attempts to contain all known images, plus 2 Italian books containing more images.
Gallery of Mushrooms in Christian Art – category: Mushrooms in Art
Dr. Jerry Brown told me his project, to have entheogen scholars gather images of mushrooms in religious art, was no-go due to each entheogen scholar heading in a different direction.
Brown told me that my new gallery page is essentially the project he proposed. That page is used by his class on entheogen history.
People need to scan, crop, and tag more images. It’s not hard to find images; no one’s been looking. Ignore the naysayers; go against the scholarly cover-up operation.
Use my super-genius big-brain principle:
Artists are not idiots: if they paint a mushroom, they know they are painting a mushroom. Mushroom shapes in Christian art mean mushrooms.
That idea is obviously insane, because…. everyone knows that artists are idiots who have no idea what they’re drawing, and they work from templates that always become unrecognizably mushroom-shaped by accidental coincidence, and artists don’t realize that their shapes might be misconstrued as psychoactive mushrooms.
Partial Translation of Brinckmann’s 1906 “Little” Book That per Panofsky, Proves All Mushrooms in Christian Art Are Italian Pines
Brinckmann, Mushroom Trees, & Asymmetrical Branching
The art experts have intensively debated and scientifically concluded that their big problem — a ton of mushrooms in Christian art — shall be explained-away thusly.
The art experts extensively debated the facts, as thoroughly shown in this recent, thick, 1906, 86 page book — CASE CLOSED.
Concepts Collection
- Core Concepts – page with section-entry for each core concept of the cybernetic theory (psychedelic eternalism; = loose cognition, the block universe, no-free-will, control cancellation) – a glossary of sorts.
