wow that book review that I wrote back in 2022 really rocks makes me look like a fool now

It really ticks all the boxes:

it’s a short review

it has an accurate representation of what the book’s purposes are

what the book’s distinct approach is

which errors in the field of academic scholarship of religious history that the book corrects

how much progress the book makes towards comprehension of Theurgy

and then folded into that, the review points out the main weaknesses of the book

what is necessary to correct those errors?

in level one through seven, he talks about rebirth, he talks about turmoil/ “torment” ; he talks about being possessed by the divine powers in order to get rid of the demonic powers

this review pinpoints exactly the crux of the matter of why we cannot claim the alleged “other methods” produce the specific effect that they must produce

at least you do define the word ‘cosmos’, as meaning Saturn at the highest

the purpose of your remaining silent on the fixed stars is for the purpose of denying no free will, denying heimarmene.

The Hermetic text do not say that heimarmene is not the case; the opposite:

they say that you must sacrifice to it to appease it and to calm the storm that results from denying heimarmeme

just like you covertly silently remove the fixed stars and the zodiac and the real stars

the reader must know that he confusingly tries to confuse the reader by misusing the word the stars to mean 7 of them

that is how we get rid of the torment, the turmoil , the control instability – not by eliminating our belief in fate, but instead the opposite: by eliminating our belief in free will ego Power.

Hermetic texts say that we sacrifice to the fate-controlling demons, we give them their due, we recognize them, we honor them, we are appease them

not that we deny that they are real

not that we deny that fate is the case governing over personal Control Thinking

and so one can only surmise and speculate what massive rewriting does Hanegraaff need to do to bring his cosmology model of mental development multi-state into a coherent form that accurately reflects both how the mind transforms and the meaning of the Hermetic texts – which the texts themselves try to occlude and cloud over and hide and evade, in classic esoteric fashion

these esoteric texts are as interested in obscuring the situation as they are in communicating and accurately helpfully describing the situation

they are there to conceal and the reason that they are there to conceal and then kind of partly reveal

it’s because esoteric texts are a project of avoidance and clouding over

and just like the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics it is a big project of setting up shelter to allow the ego power to hide and sustain itself

it is an avoidance tactic for the ego to survive, the ego covers up the truth

poetry and escape into poetry

ego escapes into poetry which is ambiguous which is missing the point which is evading the point which tries to conceal the situation while pretending to be trying to communicate it but actually trying to prevent communicating the truth

the Atman project: pursuing Transcendence by Means which prevent it

Esotericism is the Atman project: a way of pursuing the truth that’s designed to prevent you from seeing the truth, because you don’t like it, because you are ego advocate asserting freewill power thats a separate power ruling in heaven next to God’s throne

there’s the Hanegraaff and Esotericism and Esotericism throne erected next to the Source (challenging its power over your control-thinking)

it is a internal contradiction within western Esotericism

just like the contradiction within Reformed Theology where we have hyper hyper Calvinism which is consistent and we have Armenian Calvinism which is a massive self-contradiction effort to put a square peg into a round hole in a way that’s a self-contradiction
