Depictions of the 2-Level and 3-Level Models

The simple 2-level model vs. the confusing, advanced, 3-level model.

Dumb + smart guy = the 2-level model – focuses on the basic contrast between the two models of control, time, and possibility-branching.

No-limb guy-pair = the 3-level model – focuses on qualified possibilism-thinking.

The mushroom tree and the bulk of the entire image focuses on the basic 2-level model, out of practical necessity.

The image also caters to advanced discussions which require understanding the 2-level model as a prerequisite.

2-level basic contrast. Viable self-control in loosecog requires eternalism-thinking; depicted via non-branching.

The above scene is an example of worshipping or focusing on and asserting eternalism rather than rhetorical emphasis on worshipping transcending eternalism.

The latter can sound like a denial that eternalism is the case; such a denial produces control instability by defaulting to the freewill-premised attempt to make control agency cross the Hofstadter levels.

Any way in which we “transcend” eternalism must affirm, not deny, that eternalism is the case.

Wouter Hanegraaff’s Hermetic texts do not deny that eternalism is the case, they assert eternalism and they rhetorically aspire to, in some compatible senses, “transcend” (while yet affirming) block-universe eternalism.

The ultimate point and constraint is: you don’t control the source of your control thoughts – regardless of advanced, confusing rhetorical claims and aspirations of “transcending fate”.

The Pre/Trans Fallacy: Naive Possibilism-Thinking vs. Qualified Possibilism-Thinking

The pre/trans fallacy is hearing advanced sophisticated rhetoric of “transcending fate” by “rising above the 8th level”, and gleefully thinking like Hanegraaff seems to, “a way to make heimarmene not apply to me!” or “a way to make Heimarmene not be the case!”

The advanced initiate’s “freedom from eternalism” is NOT naive possibilism-thinking; it is very different: qualified possibilism-thinking.

Contrasting 2-Level vs. 3-Level Models

2-Level

150 BC: 2-level system. Transcendent Knowledge = eternalism/ heimarmene/ fatedness/ block-universe determinism.

The emphasized goal is to reach level 8 (fixed stars, eternalism-thinking).

3-Level

150 AD – 3-level system: Transcendent Knowledge = transcending eternalism / heimarmene/fatedness/ block-universe determinism.

The (mainly rhetorically) emphasized goal is to rise above level 8 to level 9 (the Ennead, the Empyrian, outside the fixed stars seeing zodiac images from outside, qualified possibilism-thinking).

Per David Ulansey: looking at the celestial asphere covered with zodiac images implies you are outside of block-universe eternalism, outside the Fate-ruled cosmos in the Empyrian.

Discards the heimarmene-stars into his Rejected wastebasket & evil/repressed Saturn level, which is ruled by negative energies/ psychological traits.

Discussion

Ancients progressed from worshipping eternalism to worshipping the transcendence of eternalism.

The claim to “transcend eternalism” is largely advanced confusing (misleading) mystical rhetoric, per competitive b.s. marketing & wishful thinking & language-game magic, inventing the freewill fog machine of complex double-talk theology.

FIRST fully understand/comprehend early antiquity’s 2-level worship of eternalism.

THEN, distinctly from that, understand the twists from adding a relatively negative valuation to eternalism which was previously equated with mystic Truth enlightenment.

The fixed-stars level is the main point of reference, yet Hanegraaff is unable to at all discuss the fixed stars in his theurgy cosmology model despite all his attention to “the Ogdoad” – why does he pretend like Ogdoad is something other than the fixed stars?

Hanegraaff and I agree that the center of concern is heimarmene, which I define and explain as referring to the transformative revelation of block-universe no-free-will; most ultimately and to the point, the loose cognitive state discovery that you don’t control the source and origin of your control-thoughts.

Today on Egodeath Mystery Show Aug 17 2022 or maybe yesterday I connected Ariadne’s garment = branching-thinking = left limb.

We now in the psyche-revealing state perceive branching thinking like a removed explicit layer of clothing that hid the non-branching spear/serpent reality of monopossibility due to pre-existing thoughts.

The main crux point is non-control – BUT, a main thing experience that produces the experience of non-control is block-universe determinism / eternalism-consciousness.

The layer of illusory egoic thinking initially covers the underlying reality, exposed by the psilocybin mushrooms in the hem folds in this Dionysus mosaic.

You don’t make peace with Fate by denying Fate is real; you make peace with Fate by affirming Fate’s power over your control-thoughts!

The ever-popular Freewill Fog project propelling eg Arminian Calvinism: 1) commit to propping up freewill egoic moral culpability premise. 2) claim to assert God’s omnipotence (but always limit that to not infringe on the most important thing, which is your moral project of propping up freewill moral agency, it’s your god-level duty to engineer and be the savior of freewill moral control power.

David Ulansey – The Origins of the Mithraic Mysteries: Cosmology & Salvation in the Ancient World

This is a science book more than a spirituality book – provides a trustworthy foundation unlike the “scientific historian” Wouter Hanegraaff who struggles to prevent the fixed stars from being in the Ogdoad (8th sphere). Has Hanegraaff not read this book?

That’s quite possible, since as Luther H. Martin’s 2018 book (Studies in Hellenistic Religions) writes, scholars have disrespected Hellenistic-era religion and have been blind to astral ascent mysticism; spiritual ascent cosmology. Hanegraaff acts illiterate about theurgy when it comes to the fixed stars.
