The Oldest Taboo in the World – Introduction to Wasson Book (incomplete and unpublished). Considers the taboo encoded in the Old Testament myth of the Temptation of Adam and Eve, forbidding the eating of sacred plants that give wisdom or a divine or god-like nature.
The Banker and the Bruja – Chapter One of Wasson Book – describes the meeting between R. Gordon Wasson and the Mazatec shaman Maria Sabina, resulting in the handover of psychoactive plant mysticism by its indigenous practitioners, making it known to the world at large.”
Lash’s Counterproductive and Bizarre Idol Worship of Wasson
the Lash archive site map Psychonautics section includes Lash’s voice recording, in which Lash describes Wasson as “a double agent of the nu whirl odor” – and yet Lash’s new book edition preserves his obsequious, fawning Wasson idolizing/ worship, grotesquely and needlessly and repulsively calling entheogen = exact synonym of ‘Wasson’ – this is a major self-contradiction of Lash.
It is highly unproductive/ counterproductive to go out of his way to drag Wasson’s name in, every single time Lash mentions entheogens/ the entheogen theory; this is an ERROR, a very bad idea, by one measure or another. Awful theorizing.
Genuflecting to Wasson at every opportunity, striving and straining to put more emphasis on Wasson than on entheogens,
like Ruck loves Secret more than Amanita, Lash loves Wasson more than entheogens.
Lash goes out of his way to insert Wasson as the intermediary between people and entheogens. Even though Lash admits in his voice recording commentary at his site map page Psychonaut section that Wasson is radioactive AF.
Lash is conducting a project for the purpose of giving as much glory to Wasson as possible at every opportunity.
Fortunately, Lash has no takers, just like Hanegraaff will find that no one else on Earth will employ Hanegraaff’s monstrously ill-advised and counterproductive construction from Hell, “entheogens in the broad sense” – ie non-drug entheogens.
No one other than Lash hastens to (pointlessly & needlessly) call the entheogen theory “the Wasson theory” at every single opportunity.
Lash’s Two Forms of “The Wasson[SIC! 🤢😡] Theory”
Finding during the July 7 [8] show in which I read all 9 Lash Psychonaut articles: Lash defines TWO forms of “the Wasson[sic!] theory”:
“the Wasson thesis in the general sense” (non-idiots call it as Lash does when Lash is not compromised & insane: the entheogen theory of religion)
“the Wasson thesis in the specific sense” = the idiotic terrible dumb idea than Letcher wrote an entire book mocking, Hatsis cashing in on copying Letcher’s move, that all religion came from an Amanita cult in the Ural mountains.
Then Letcher Hatsis conflates the broad vs narrow sense of “the Wasson theory”, in the Christian context. And calls that like Lash calls Allegro’s theory “a spinoff of the Wasson thesis” –
Lash’s handling of framing of theory formation & naming is atrocious!
Lash employs the term “the entheogenic theory of religion fine, but then every time he does, he then RUINS it by dubbing it an exact synonym of “the Wasson theory”, which no one else does, because such a bad and weird idea/framing.
Entheogen scholars are in a heated competition for which scholar can construct the worst idea ever.
